Home health
Healthy years are won and lost at home, so that’s where we bring the hospital’s standard of care. Nurses and therapists come to the house after a hospital stay, a surgery or a hard turn, and work with the doctor until they’re back on their feet.
A person answers any hour. Clinicians can fax referrals to (562) 600-2000.

Care that comes to the house.
The doctor stays in the loop from the first visit, and our clinical leaders review every chart, because nothing here runs on autopilot.
Skilled nursing
Registered and licensed vocational nurses for wound care, injections, medications, teaching, and a close eye on a condition that’s changing.
Physical therapy
Strength, balance and walking, practiced in the rooms they actually live in.
Occupational therapy
The skills of everyday life: bathing, dressing, cooking, getting in and out of bed safely.
Speech therapy
Speaking, swallowing and memory, after a stroke or a long illness.
Medical social work
Help with forms, benefits and community resources, and with the hard conversations.
Home health aides
Help with bathing and personal care, alongside the nursing or therapy.
Does Medicare cover it?
Four things have to be true.
When all four are, Medicare pays for covered home health in full. Tap the ones that fit. If you’re not sure about one, that’s normal, and we check every one on the first call.
One of four is already true. Tap the rest that fit.
HealthView home health, any hour: (562) 600-1000
Our secure form opens here with what you checked already in it. Add your name and a phone number, and intake gets back to you the same day.
From Medicare.gov, Home health services. Equipment like a walker or hospital bed is usually 20% of the Medicare-approved amount after the Part B deductible. Medicare Advantage and Medi-Cal plans have their own rules, and intake checks yours.
If it can heal at home, we treat it at home.
Equipment
For medical equipment Medicare covers, you pay 20% of the Medicare-approved amount after the Part B deductible.
Homebound, in Medicare’s words
Leaving home isn’t recommended because of your condition, or you need help to leave, like a cane, a wheelchair or a walker. And leaving normally takes a lot of effort.
Care that comes to you
You pay nothing for covered home health services: part-time or intermittent skilled nursing care, and physical, occupational or speech therapy when you qualify.
Surgery and joint recovery
Rehab without the commute.
Heart failure and COPD
Watching closely, so a bad day doesn’t turn into a trip back to the hospital.
Diabetes
Teaching that sticks, for them and for whoever helps at home.
Stroke recovery
Speech, strength and as much independence as they can win back.
Complex and surgical wounds
Treated and tracked until they close.
Falls and balance
Stronger legs, and a home made safer around them.

The first visit
Time to listen, and a plan before we leave.
A nurse or therapist does a full assessment, walks through the house to spot hazards, checks every medication against the doctor’s list, and builds the plan with your physician. Before we leave, your family knows the warning signs and exactly who to call, so a small problem becomes a phone call instead of a trip to the emergency room.
Who pays
Most Medicare patients pay nothing for the visits.
- Medicare
- Pays in full for covered home health when the four conditions are met. Equipment is usually 20% after the Part B deductible.
- Medicare Advantage and managed care
- Plans like CalOptima cover home health with their own rules. Intake checks the plan and handles the authorization.
- Medi-Cal
- Through plans we work with, like CalOptima. We verify it on the first call.
Questions
Questions families ask us
How soon can home health start?
Call any hour and a person answers. Intake gets back to you the same day, works with the doctor on the order, and puts the first visit on the calendar as soon as it’s signed.
Do we need a doctor’s order?
Yes. Medicare requires a doctor or nurse practitioner to see the patient in person and order home health care. If you don’t have an order yet, we call the doctor’s office and help get one.
Can we choose HealthView?
Yes. When a doctor orders home health, they should give you a list of agencies that serve your area, and the choice is yours. Ask for HealthView by name, or call us and we’ll reach out to the doctor.
Can they get home health in assisted living?
Yes. Home is wherever they live, including assisted living and board and care homes.
How long does home health last?
It works toward goals set with the doctor. The plan is reviewed along the way, and care continues as long as they qualify.
What if they aren’t getting better?
When the goals change, palliative care or hospice may fit better. It’s the same organization, so nobody starts over. We’ll talk it through with you and the doctor.
Where do you provide care?
In Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino counties. Not sure about an address? Call and we’ll check.
