Frontline Honors: Victor Rodriguez, LVN, and Nicole Ryder, LVN

Two of our licensed vocational nurses were named to the Frontline Honors class of 2024: Victor Rodriguez in home health, and Nicole Ryder in hospice.¹ Neither of them applied for it. Their colleagues nominated them.

What Frontline Honors is

Frontline Honors is run by WTWH Healthcare, the publisher behind Home Health Care News and Hospice News. It recognizes frontline workers across the care continuum, in five categories: behavioral health, home health and home care, hospice and palliative care, senior living, and skilled nursing.¹

Honorees are nominated by the people they work with, and the class of 2024 drew a record number of nominations.¹ Fifty-three people were chosen nationwide: thirteen in home health and home care, and eight in hospice and palliative care.¹

Victor Rodriguez, LVN

When Home Health Care News profiled Victor, he was a QA clinical liaison.² Today he’s one of our Care Continuum Managers, the nurses who keep a patient’s care connected across doctors, families, assisted living communities and our own teams.

Victor told Home Health Care News that his favorite part of the job is meeting new patients and listening to their life stories, and that he gets to watch patients regain their physical abilities.² He described the work as part of a small team where every discipline works together.²

Nicole Ryder, LVN

Nicole was honored in hospice and palliative care. She told Hospice News what she loves about the work in one sentence: “We get one chance to make a positive impact in how our care will be described by a family in their years to come.”³

She also said hospice is often associated with negative thoughts and fears, and that “education is key.”³ And she said she wished leaders understood the pressures faced on the front lines.³ That last one deserves every manager’s attention, ours included.

Why peer nominations matter

Peer nominations are the kind of evidence we trust most, because they describe what someone is like on an ordinary Tuesday, in a stranger’s living room, when nobody from the office is watching. It’s the same reason we measure our culture through an anonymous survey of everyone and publish the result: in 2026, 98% of our people said HealthView is a great place to work.⁴
